That line has been a motto that i sing to my baby for about two wiks or so…and mr hubby has his own version of song …”grow, grow, grow…alei alei alei..” (tat football cheer…sigh)….it is not an alarming issue to be addressed since I am convinced that my baby inherited my genes…not the father’s…double sigh…however, our gynae ordered a few
procedures for me to undergo so that any bad news can be traced immediately…
1. to perform CTG bi-wikly
2. to stop fasting…huhu…
at first she told me that maybe my baby was at risk of having IUGR….
What is intrauterine growth restriction?
Babies are diagnosed with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) if they appear to be smaller than expected — specifically, if an ultrasound indicates that their weight is below the 10th percentile for their gestational age.
There are lots of reasons that a baby appears small. In many cases, a baby who’s diagnosed with IUGR just happens to be small (perhaps like one of his parents!). In other cases, a baby who seems small in the womb turns out to be a normal size at birth. But in some cases, something is keeping the baby from growing properly, and the prenatal caregiver will try to figure out what the problem is.
A series of CTG has been done to my baby and alhamdulillah,so far everything looks normal..the hearbeat is strong, the movement is splendid and everything seems perfectly healthy for me and our baby..alhamdulillah…and NO..its not IUGR…
Alhamdulillah, praise to God for all the good news that comes knocking to our door…from the last meeting, our little muchkin weighed 1.7kg at 33 wiks…yeah,it shud be between 2-2.5kg i noe but so far I have nothing to fear since me,my mom,my dad n my sisters are genetically small…hehe…well, tats all 4 the updates so far, despite all the good news, i still have to attend bi-wikly CTG until full term…huhu..
